ABOUT THIS PROJECT
The UC Davis Health academic campus is located in Sacramento, separate from the UC Davis campus. As it has grown, a need for a separate identity has become apparent. The monument site is the entry point for the campus, and the monument serves as an identity gateway for patients and visitors. The monument was designed to accommodate secondary identities for the campus organizations, on the surrounding walls and secondary adjacent display areas. The 4’ diameter porcelain enamel state seal uses platinum leaf for the imprint, and has a minimum 50 year lifespan.
GATEWAY MONUMENT
With a triangular entry point, the Sacramento campus of UC Davis Health lacked a sense of entry, a way of creating a feeling of arrival. The design team wanted a timeless, classic design that would remain elegant for many years to come.
